To use the timer effectively, place your egg on your iPhone to measure its size accurately using your fingertip. Input your current altitude manually or let it be detected via GPS. Specify whether your eggs were refrigerated or stored at room temperature and choose your preferred consistency - soft-boiled, hard-boiled, or somewhere in-between.

When ready to cook, arrange your eggs in a single layer in a saucepan, covering them with enough cold water. Bring the water to a rapid boil over high heat and commence the countdown.
